Train Trailer Makes Strategic Acquisition Dramatically Increasing Calgary Fleet Resources

CALGARY, ALBERTA, September 5, 2017

Train Trailer is pleased to announce the asset purchase of Canadian Transport Trailer (CTT) in Calgary, Alberta. Hundreds of dry vans, heaters, reefers, flatbeds and chassis were purchased and integrated into Train Trailer’s existing leasing, rental and sales operation in Calgary.

CTT’s Dean and Jeff Kohut will maintain their operation within a niche, specialized category, while Train Trailer serves their Calgary clients with existing Train Trailer personnel. According to Rick Kloepfer, President of Train Trailer, “Being part of TIP Trailer Services gives us the resources to take advantage of opportunities like the CTT purchase. We’ve wanted to expand in Calgary and with the Kohut brothers looking to focus on other parts of their business, this was a perfect fit for CTT and Train Trailer. It translates to immediate growth for us and gives Train Trailer a much larger footprint in this major Alberta market.”

Local Train Trailer team members Tim Tymko, Business Development, and Jon Chartrand, Customer Operations, will be the leads in managing the transition of the new clients and equipment. Their current facility is well-suited for the increased activity.
