Saskatoon Truck Brite was founded in 2011 and has grown into Saskatoon’s premier polish and detail shop. We believe that anything aluminum can shine; our service includes semi-truck detailing and polishing, mobile power stream pressure washing, and detailing for recreation vehicles.

I have been involved with Saskatoon Truck Brite for over a decade and know our business inside and out. Our current ownership consists of five partners and was recently purchased in the Fall of 2022. With this, I have transitioned from general manager to managing partner alongside Barry Stuart, Franki Stuart, Matthew Macsymic, and Kelly Macsymic.

The previous owner, Holly Kleiter-Warren, was instrumental in building up the book of business alongside our qualified team. We are proud of the company’s reputation for the quality work our shop produces. Shane Gerlinsky is our lead polisher, and he makes it look easy (believe me, it’s not). Alex Ross has worked his way up as a skilled polisher alongside Shane, and Travis Obrigewitch is our mobile operator. We can always count on them to do the job the right way.

We believe that being a member of the STA is a good fit for us to network and reach out to clients who already work with us, and perhaps those we haven’t met yet. Our lone female partner, Kelly Macsymic, attended the STA AGM for the first time this year and was delighted to see an entire panel of women in trucking. Our involvement with the STA has been minimal so far, but we are looking forward to doing more in the future.

With COVID-19 now behind us, we have continued to prioritize the health and safety of our team. It is paramount to the success of our business going forward. We have incorporated a health benefits plan and started work with our employees on adaptable technology to ease the overall physical wear and tear of our work. There are always ways to do better (as in working smarter, not harder), and we are constantly looking to optimize the benefits of our employees.

Although we have had many successes within our company, like many businesses, recruiting new employees remains a concern. Another challenge is creating more opportunities for our business. We believe there is a lot of work out there; we just need to be strategic about finding it. One opportunity we have capitalized on is our mobile truck wash. Our mobile truck wash is now working full-time, opening a revenue stream we weren’t fully optimizing. We are trying to grow that part of our business, forging new relationships with commercial or residential property managers, our regional farming community, and all types of fleet and equipment operators.

Polish and detailing can make for some requests. We live to make truckers and their trucks look good. It’s really rewarding to see a pride of ownership from our clients, something that we directly had a hand in. We help them shine out there on the road, and we are proud to be a part of that.

If you’re looking to join the trucking industry, a piece of advice I would give is to “find your niche and jump in.” Trucking has been a staple of landlocked Saskatchewan for decades, directly correlating to the vast amount of opportunities in this industry. If you’re willing to work hard, then this industry will definitely reward you.

Outside of work, you can head to our social media channels and see that the team is crazy about dogs. Everyone here either has a pet or wishes they had one. Our office enforcer, Dana, is a lot of dog in a little body. So, it’s no surprise that we all love spending time with family outside the office, including our furry loved ones.
