Aiding the Saskatchewan trucking industry in closing the gap on the ever-present truck driver shortage is advocacy work the STA takes very seriously. While it is clear to our members that there is no single long or short-term solution to the driver shortage, the association is taking key steps to address it. Staff recently attended a career fair in Regina to spread awareness of the many careers

the trucking industry had to offer.

Information on current availabilities at STA Member companies were promoted while younger attendees were provided information on the trucking as a viable career option. The STA has also been working with the newly created Saskatchewan Ministry of Immigration and Career Training to fill empty driver’s seats.
